This 1:1000 scale map was produced as part of the programme programme The mapping
of the architectural heritage at high risk of destruction
promoted in 1990 by the Ministry for the Cultural and Environmental Heritage.
The map is of the Pozzuoli area, which is about 400 hectares, and indicates all the
archaeological sites which urgently need attention, including those of the ancient
area of the Roman port which is at present underwater.
Produced by means of the stereo-restitution of the photograms taken during an
ad hoc, aerial survey, and therefore very up to date, the map is
indispensable for monitoring the state of preservation of the sites urgently in
need of attention and can be used as the basis for work and evaluation projects.
